This topic today brings to mind about the other day when I needed to talk to a friend and they weren’t available. As human beings we are so socially oriented that when we are hurting we need somebody that we can speak to or tell this hurtful things that we are feeling in our heart or we just want to vent and we feel like it is only another human being we can vent too.

But I discovered the other day or rather I’d know and it really resonated in my spirit the words of Psalm 62:8 and it  says:

People, always put your trust in God!

    Tell him all your problems.

God is our place of safety. Selah

So who do we run to when we are hurting?

You know the good thing about running to God is He is safe because when you share something with God you don’t have to worry about hearing it from somebody else or you don’t have to worry about Him violating your privacy. So I think that is such a good place to run to and it’s like He is our rock and God is my rock and I can run to Him when I am empty and I can run to Him when I am full. When I’ve got things on my mind that I need to empty I can run to Him and I feel safe.

And in the same tone there is no way I can minister to somebody else if I am empty. But before I can even empty myself I have to go to Him and empty myself of the junk then fill up and I can only really effectively minister to someone else when I am filled to overflowing.

If I minister from my own self without being filled then I am running a chance of getting into a deficit and when I run into this I can minister flesh or from my human spirit. I can minister that which is not edifying and that is dangerous. So it is important to minister to someone when I am not hurting so that I am not ministering the hurt I am feeling in my heart because the word of God says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

When we really get this, then we will not run into a place where we either get depressed or frustrated because what frustrates us is what we are reasoning with in our spirit or what we are hearing from somebody else. When we go back to Him and even when we are not picking up what we have stored in our hearts we can actually go to the physical word and get a fresh feeling because the word of God is alive and it’s so fulfilling everyday and it’s different everyday. There are so many times I’ve read a particular scripture and then I would read it again and I would get another meaning out of it and that is why it’s called the living word of God.

But my point today is really, let’s make God our rock where we go to empty ourselves when we are hurting. Where we go to fill ourselves when we need filling. Where we fill ourselves when we need to minister so that we are not ministering from our soul soulish realm, but we are ministering from our spirit that is being filled from the spirit of God.

I hope you get what I am trying to say and I hope you get blessed too by this because we are in times where people are so busy and sometimes we are looking to a friend and like I said, I was looking to this friend where I could express, chat and share what I was going through and they were not there. But then when I turned to God and He filled me and I felt a peace and also I was able to resonate with what they might be going through because they may be needed somebody to empty too. Maybe they needed somebody to fill them up so why should I be burdening them with what I’m going through when God is so readily available and is never tired to hear from us. He is always waiting and listening for us to come to Him, to worship Him, to listen to Him but He is also waiting for somebody to minister to.

So be blessed and the next time you feel a heavy burden and like there is no one else to talk to, know that you have a friend right close to you that you can talk to and He is so ready to minister to you.

May God bless you.

Blessed! And best thing about running to God is His availability, dependability and eternal love and compassion. The prophets of Jezebel called all day in vain. When Elijah’s turn came, hah! God of Elijah showed up and show up He did🔥🔥Thank you for sharing this reminder.
