Invite God into your personal space; Invite Him Into your Life.
Does God hear us when we pray for others? Why does He want us to pray? Why can’t God just do what He wants? From What I understand, God is not a taskmaster nor is He a slave master. He is a God who is all-knowing and gentle and loving. He is almighty and powerful yet, He does not invade our personal space. He actually waits to be invited.
Look! I am standing at the door of your house. I am knocking on your door. When you hear my voice you should open the door. Then I will come in. We will eat a meal together as friends [Rev 3:20 Easy Version]
Right there, I see that God sets a standard on how we should treat each other. We learn from Him. So praying is not just coming to God with what one may need, want, or giving Him a list of what we want to be done. It is much more than that.
First of all, we must believe that He does exist and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Without faith no one can please God. Whoever comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who sincerely try to find him.[Hebrews 11:6 Easy Version]
Primarily what God wants is a relationship. All the things we want or desire are bonuses.
What does it gain a man to have the riches of this world and lose His soul [Mark 8:36]
Talking to God has not guaranteed I get everything I want. What it gives me is peace of mind and contentment with where I am each time! I carry a consciousness of who I am in everything I do. When I do things that are not right, the guilt I feel is the radar of knowing I have missed it, but I don’t run away and hide, I draw to Him and I have an assurance from His Word that He is my Shepherd.
The Lord is my shepherd.
I will always have everything I need.
He gives me green pastures to lie in.
He leads me by calm pools of water.
He restores my strength.
He leads me on right paths to show that he is good.
Even if I walk through a valley as dark as the grave,
I will not be afraid of any danger, because you are with me.
Your rod and staff comfort me.
You prepared a meal for me in front of my enemies.
You welcomed me as an honored guest.
My cup is full and spilling over.
Your goodness and mercy will be with me all my life,
and I will live in the Lord’s house a long, long time.
[Psalm 23 Easy Version]
God is not looking for us to impress him with good behavior, he knows us in and out. He created us and He is hoping we can come to him just as we are in our human frailty because he is the one who can make us into what he intended when He first put us together, while we were in our mother’s womb.
In this World, we are on a journey and it is good to trust the author of this journey called Life. it makes for a smoother run. Imagine you have a car and then one day it develops a problem. You go to meet the person who invented it and after you tell them what the problem is can you tell the manufacturer of that car how to repair it? What he would expect is you read the manual and you handled the car the right way, Right?
And so it is with us. God created us and He has made a manual that if we read and follow we find the answers to solve the problems we encounter. In the Bible, we see first hand those who had relationships with God were successful. They encountered problems but God made them overcomers every time. We also have the same access, it’s better to come to him and seek him out 24/7 because Jesus made the way. When things don’t make sense He knows and he knows to make a way where there is no way. He has loads of favor and He lavishes on us because he loves us.
If you have never taken the step of inviting God to come into your Life by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I am encouraging you to take that step. Life is meaningless if you just live for now and don’t think about the here-after. A life that is God-filled or God-oriented is beneficial for our whole being. For our relationship with Him and with our fellow human beings. It is the reason Jesus came down from heaven and lived here on earth to show us how to live and relate to God as our Father.
Amen. We have an operational manual
