Not every day is going to be a hanky panky jumpy day! We’re not machines. The truth is: everyone needs a recharging day.
There will be some days one wakes up in the morning and they just don’t feel like getting out of bed. This is where one has to be careful about what they say because words have power to become; you never want to translate those feelings into a bad day.
For example, there was a time a few weeks after my mother had passed and I woke up with this feeling of sadness that I ended up naming out loud as depression. Now, I had had this feeling before but never like I felt that particular day. What ended up happening was once I was in agreement with what I was feeling and claimed the feeling of depression; I actually said it out loud ‘that I was feeling so depressed’. The result that followed after, was a heavy day where all I did was stay in bed except for when I needed to use the bathroom.
This is why I say, as one wakes up, when one is faced with negative feelings, don’t go there with spoken words, instead, take it as a recharge day.
You see, sometimes when one needs to make a bigger jump in life, the setbacks are actually opportunities to make bigger forward leaps. Have you seen the steps of doing Hope-Step-and Jump? To make a longer forward leap, one has to step way back. Not every setback is a failure.
So the next day when I woke up and I felt that feeling start to creep in, I said no! I decided there and then that my day was going to be a good one and what followed after was exactly what I put out into the universe.
One has to be careful with what they name those days when they wake up and they don’t feel like everything is going OK because the truth is, some days are more challenging than others. Obligations crop up, tough decisions will need to be made and some things are going to come your way that are not savory, but remember, these are tests to help build your faith muscles!
The least you can do is give hope to your day by giving it a pleasant name and fortunately for us, we have a promise for those slum in the dump days:
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. – John 16:33 (KJV)
…and we all know, if Jesus has said it, you can take it to the bank, it will come! He has a promise tacked on in the warning, so take the promise with you and know that He sees you as an overcomer. There is nothing that is going to come your way that is new under the sun.
Another encouraging scripture is:
The only temptations that you have are the same temptations that all people have. But you can trust God. He will not let you be tempted more than you can bear. But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to endure it. – 1 Corinthians 10:13 (Easy)
I have realized that in life, many of us tend to think too much of what is going on right now and what we are going through, but to be an overcomer one needs to come out of that by allowing one’s thinking to expand. Our thinking has to supersede our current conditions and reality. This can only be done by expanding one’s knowledge of the word of God because that thinking creates the good one wants to see.
I speak more on this topic in my upcoming book so be sure to be on the lookout for that.
But as I was saying, no matter what trial comes your way, there’s a lesson to learn and a way to overcome or go through it, because God is faithful. You have to keep your eyes and trust in Him.
My take for those slumping in the dump days, one should watch what they say, one should do their best not to give them a negative name and instead, give them a positive spin.
Remember, your spoken words have power.
Here are some possible suggestions of naming the day that you can use as you wake up and become oriented to the day:
- This is going to be a great day.
- This is the day that the Lord has made. I know I am going to rejoice and be glad in it.
- This is going to be an awesome day. I am expecting some good surprises.
- Something good is going to happen to me today. Something good is coming my way today and people are going to bless me and I shall be a blessing to others.
- All things are working out together for my good and I am rejoicing because I am alive. I am healthy and well.
- Thank you for a wonderful day Father. This is the best day ever and it shall be a wonderful day.
- The joy of the Lord is my strength. I am a joy bringer everywhere I go.
- I know I am productive, prosperous, and good things are coming my way. I am a WINNER. I win everywhere I go because my steps are ordered by the Lord so I know I walk right and do things in the right way.
- Nothing good will be withheld from me today. I receive goodness and mercy from the hand of the Lord.
- There is goodness in this day for me. There is profit in this day for me. There is abundance for me in this day and it is coming my way.
Go ahead and be glad that you have woken up to see another day. It’s a gift, take it and look up! It is going to be okay. If the sun’s not shining make up your mind you’re going to be the sunshine! Smile, it has the power to lighten your countenance and bring good cheer to the world around you.
Have a hope filled day, and may God’s love flood your soul!
This day and everyday is the day that the Lord had made. I will rejoice and be glad in it !💃
