A Moment Of Prayer

It’s been cold and rainy but today I made it out for my morning walk, and as soon as I started out on it, I felt guilty and empty.

For a while, I didn’t hear anything, so I began repenting and praying in tongues and that’s when I felt warmer inside. This naturally led me to sing as an avenue of me trying to reach God and as I did, I heard in my spirit:

‘He wants a lively and interactive relationship with us. God loves for us to run to Him.’

In a relationship, there are times for pursuing and He loves to be pursued by us because any relationship including that which we have with God is not a one-way affair but one where we worship Him to the point where we are childlike in His presence. 

He in turn lights up with his countenance and that Light is Jesus. He is the Light of the world He brings us into equilibrium with God, energizing us so we can do all things! 

Jesus spoke to the people again. He said “I am the light of the World. Those people who have become my disciples will never walk in the dark. They will have the light that gives Life

– John 8:12 [Easy]

That light lightens not only our countenance but fills our whole being  with vitality and enables us to do all things well. That is why some people call God’s  presence energy. God is more than energy 

In my mind’s eye as I started to receive that in my spirit and rejoice a little bit more, I had a vision of a big tall Father with open arms waiting for this little girl running towards Him, scooping her up in His arms

I told the Father,’ I am too big to be scooped up in your arms but I think I need you more than you need me, for I am more desperate for you than you would ever be for me.’

He responded and said ‘Our relationship is not just a casual one but it is one of endless love.’ 

I know it’s now up to me to pursue Him because He already pursued me, He already chose me and loves me more than He can ever love me because He loves me just the way He loves Jesus; and loves me just the way I am.

So, Lord, I ask that you create a clean heart in my spirit and renew a right spirit in my heart and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Fill my cup this morning Lord,  to overflowing, and in my overflow may I flow into someone who is weary.

I also found myself praying for my circle of friends, the warnings were already there. There is so much compromise in the world, and it’s kind of like even the Christians I meet are playing Christianity and it makes me scared but I know, rather I hear this is where the Lord wants me right now. 

One guy in my neighborhood actually approached me to help me carry my shopping up the stairs, as he introduced himself using four-letter words. I stopped him and said “I can manage. ” He said ‘he likes to help helpless seniors!’ 

And to that I replied ‘I Can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,’ “Sure sister, pray for me too. I am your cursing preacher!” I said a silent prayer for him and quickly hurried away. I don’t understand how you can profess to be a Christian and at the same time use cursing words. Our words can build or crush; we can refresh or discourage.

So I take this time to pray and I hope you too will do the same not just for those you love: but pray for the whole world too. Let us pay attention to what we say. We are here to make a difference, our attitude, action, words we say reveal our character and leave an effect on those we come into contact with.

Lord, I pray that you strengthen me. 

Strengthen my heart with love and grace so that I will know how to comfort him/her that is weary and how to encourage him/her who is giving up. 

How to point the right one to the right way without discouraging them, Lord I know you will give me the right tools and I just lift up each and everyone in my circle of friends, and in my community and the entire world that Lord we would be drawn  more and more to the Light of your Son Jesus. 

That those that are known by you would desire and want a personal relationship with you. Lord, I ask that you strengthen me cause I can’t do this life without you.

Psalm 24:1 The whole earth belongs to the LORD.
